Why doesn't the past participle beheerd start with ge-?
The infinitive of the verb is beheren (to manage). In Dutch, verbs that start with an unstressed prefix like be-, ver-, ont-, her-, or ge- do not get an extra ge- at the beginning of their past participle. They simply keep their original prefix.
