Why does this sentence use weg for "gone"?
In Dutch, weg literally means "away". However, it is the standard way to say that something is "gone", "lost", or "missing". So de koekjes zijn weg simply translates to "the cookies are gone".
How does allemaal work here? Could I use alle instead?
