Usages of de wet

De regering is de wet aan het veranderen.
The government is changing the law.
Zij zijn overal tegen, ook tegen deze wet.
They are against everything, also against this law.
Niettemin stemt het parlement tegen de nieuwe wet.
Nevertheless, the parliament is voting against the new law.
De regering voert de hervorming in. De wet is evenwel omstreden.
The government introduces the reform. The law is however controversial.
Althans, de wet sluit dat uitdrukkelijk uit.
At least, the law explicitly excludes that.
