The Prefix on-
In Dutch, you can create the opposite of many adjectives and participles by attaching the prefix on-. This works like the English prefixes un-, in-, or im-.
For example, voorspelbaar means "predictable," so onvoorspelbaar means "unpredictable."
| People with this zodiac sign are often unpredictable. | Mensen met dit sterrenbeeld zijn vaak onvoorspelbaar. |
| The horoscope claims that this man is quite unreliable. | De horoscoop beweert dat deze man vrij onbetrouwbaar is. |
Adjective Rules Still Apply
Words with the on- prefix follow the same spelling and grammar rules as any other adjective.
If placed directly in front of a noun, the adjective usually takes an -e ending. If it stands alone after a verb, it keeps its base form.
| You only have to ignore this unreliable prediction. | Je hoeft deze onbetrouwbare voorspelling alleen maar te negeren. |
| The thief was very inconspicuous. | De dief was erg onopvallend. |
Describing Personalities
This prefix is frequently used to describe personality traits, moods, and behaviors—perfect for discussing horoscopes and zodiac signs!
| My boss is often very impatient. | Mijn baas is vaak erg ongeduldig. |
| It is quite unwise to lift that heavy cabinet. | Het is best onverstandig om die zware kast te tillen. |
| You always cheat, and that is unfair. | Jij speelt altijd vals, en dat is oneerlijk. |
``... wait, the JSON string output must be properly escaped and the original was823916`. Let's restart the block without thinking notes. Since I need to output only JSON matching the schema, I will just provide the JSON string directly. Note: JSON must not contain any newlines inside strings without escaping. The prompt handles this if I generate a single valid parseable JSON. ,
