Framing a Topic with "Wat ... betreft"

To say "As for..." or "Regarding..." in Dutch, use the phrase wat ... betreft. Frame the topic by placing the noun or pronoun directly between wat and betreft.

When you start a sentence with this phrase, it occupies the first position. To maintain the strict Verb-Second (V2) rule, the verb of the main clause must come immediately after the comma, before the subject.
