Real or Fake?
When shopping for high-end fashion, it is important to know if a piece is authentic or a clever counterfeit.
| There are no authentic designer bags here, those are only counterfeits. | Ovdje nema autentičnih dizajnerskih torbi, to su samo krivotvorine. |
Spotting Identical Details: "isti"
Use the adjective isti (the same) to point out identical features. Like all adjectives, its ending changes to agree with the gender, number, and case of the noun it describes.
| This is a fake bag, but the logo is the same. | Ovo je lažna torba, ali logo je isti. |
When comparing multiple items, isti takes a plural form.
| When we compare the original product and the copy, they are never the same. | Kada uspoređujemo originalni proizvod i kopiju, nikada nisu isti. |
Spotting Differences: "drugačiji"
Use drugačiji (different) to describe features that do not match. It also adjusts its ending to match its noun.
| Every seam on this copy is different. | Svaki je šav na ovoj kopiji drugačiji. |
You can use both adjectives together to contrast a counterfeit's accurate and inaccurate details.
| The fake logo is almost the same, but the material is very different. | Lažni logo je gotovo isti, ali materijal je jako drugačiji. |
Avoiding Fraud
Always check the details closely. A missing or incorrect certificate is a major red flag for fraud (prevara).
| A certificate without a real signature is a pure fraud. | Certifikat bez pravog potpisa je čista prevara. |
| Such a purchase is a fraud; things should always be compared. | Takva je kupovina prevara, stvari uvijek treba uspoređivati. |
