### Masculine Agreement

Even though these words look like feminine nouns, they are grammatically masculine because they refer to men. This means any adjectives, pronouns, or verbs describing them must take standard masculine endings.

### Mixed-and-Matched Cases

The real twist happens when these words change grammatical case. Because the noun ends in **-a**, the noun itself declines exactly like a regular feminine noun (taking endings like **-u**, **-e**, or **-om**). 

However, the adjectives modifying them *still follow masculine rules*. This creates a unique mix-and-match pattern: a masculine adjective ending paired with a feminine noun ending.

For example, in the accusative case (used for direct objects), the adjective takes the masculine animate ending **-og**, while the noun takes the feminine accusative ending **-u**.

In the genitive case (often used for possession, quantities, or after prepositions like *bez*), the adjective takes the masculine genitive ending **-og**, but the noun takes the feminine genitive ending **-e**.
