Future Elapsed Time with "za"
To describe when something will happen in the future by stating the elapsed time (e.g., "in two days"), Croatian uses the preposition za.
| in (after a period of time) | za |
The time phrase following za takes the Accusative case. For numbers like 2, 3, and 4 (dva, tri, četiri), the Accusative is identical to the Nominative.
| I am excited because I will go to the maternity hospital in two weeks. | Uzbuđena sam jer ću ići u rodilište za dva tjedna. |
| The delivery will start in two days, and we are impatient. | Porod će početi za dva dana, a mi smo nestrpljivi. |
| I want to assemble the stroller in ten minutes. | Želim sastaviti kolica za deset minuta. |
