The lawyer says that the defendant is innocent in this case.

يقول نكتة شيقة، هذه فرصة كي نضحك معا.yaqûlu nuktatan shayyiqatan, hâdhihi furṣatun kay nadhaka ma'an

المدير لم يقل إن المرض عذر مقبول.al-mudîru lam yaqul inna al-maraḍa 'udhrun maqbûl.
The manager did not say that illness is an acceptable excuse.
أنا لم أقل ذلك عن قصد.ana lam aqul dhâlika 'an qasdin
I did not say that on purpose.

شربت الضيفة العصير، فقالت أمي: بالصحة!sharibat id-dayfatu l-aseer, faqâlat ommi: bis-sihha!

رفع أبي كوب العصير وقال: بالصحة!rafa'a abî kûba al-'asîri wa qâla: bis-sihhati!

يقول الناس إن الطباخ فرنسي، لكنه في الحقيقة مصري.yaqûlu-nnâsu inna-ttabbâkha faransiyyun, lâkinnahu fil-haqîqati misriyyun
