When making a high-stakes sales pitch, your guarantees need to sound completely unshakeable. You already know that starting a nominal sentence with إنّ adds a strong "indeed" to the subject. For an incredibly bold assertion, double the emphasis by attaching the emphatic prefix لَـ to the predicate.
The Sliding Emphatic Prefix (اللام المزحلقة)
Because Arabic avoids stacking two emphasizing particles at the very beginning of a sentence, the emphatic prefix لَـ (known as the "sliding Lam") "slides" away from إنّ and attaches directly to the predicate.
It translates to "truly," "really," or "absolutely." Unlike the preposition لِـ (for/to), this emphatic prefix does not change the grammatical case of the word it attaches to.
| Indeed, this project is truly very profitable, and it is an exceptional opportunity. | إن هذا المشروع لمربح جدا، وهو فرصة استثنائية.inna hâdhâ al-mashrûa lamurbihun jiddan, wa huwa fursatun istithnâ'iyyatun. |
| Believe me, indeed, this opportunity is truly golden! | صدقني، إن هذه الفرصة لذهبية!saddiqni, inna hâdhihil-fursata ladhahabiyyah! |
This combination is perfect for bold guarantees:
| Indeed, this investment is truly massive. | إن هذا الاستثمار لهائل.inna hâdhâ alistithmâra lahâ'ilun. |
Emphasis After Reported Speech
Since إنّ is mandatory after the verb "to say" (قال), you can attach the sliding لَـ to the predicate of quotes to emphasize absolute certainty.
| The manager said that the return is truly guaranteed. | قال المدير إن العائد لمضمون.qâla al-mudîru inna al-â'ida lamadmûnun |
