Unwanted House Guests
Dealing with household pests requires specific vocabulary. Common intruders include a mouse (فأر), which is a type of rodent (قارض), and a cockroach (صرصور).

Calling the Professionals
If a situation gets out of hand, you will need pest control. The word for control or combating is مكافحة.

When professionals arrive, their goal is to exterminate (أباد) the pests entirely.

Chemical Solutions
To clear an infestation, workers use a pesticide (مبيد). The standard verb for applying these liquids is to spray (رش).
| The female employee sprayed the pesticide in the garden. | رشت الموظفة المبيد في الحديقة.rashshati l-muwazzafatu l-mubîda fi l-hadîqati |
For more severe cases, spraying might not be enough, and a building may require fumigation (تبخير).

Baits and Prevention
To tackle the problem yourself or prevent it, look for poison (سم) or a repellent (طارد).
