Turkish 34 - The genitive case suffix

The genitive case suffix (n)İn is used to denote possession. Note that this suffix uses n instead of y as a buffer letter.

You can see some examples of the genitive case suffix below:

The key is of the car.Anahtar arabanın.
The keys are of the house.Anahtarlar evin.
Is this computer Selma's?Bu bilgisayar Selma'nın mı?
No, that computer is not Selma's.
It is Mehmet's.
Hayır, şu bilgisayar Selma'nın değil.
Mehmet'in.

As you see in the last two sentences, proper nouns also receive an apostrophe before the genitive case suffix.
