Thinking Out Loud
You can already give advice with ควร and น่าจะ. To ASK for it — or wonder out loud — Thai uses a question with จะ and a bare ดี at the end:
จะ + verb + question word + ดี — what/where/which would be good to...?
| What should we eat? (male speaker) | เรา จะ กิน อะไร ดี ครับ |
The ดี is not good as a description — it marks the whole question as deliberation: what should we eat (what would be the good choice)?
Suggesting with ดีกว่า
ดีกว่า (dii-kwàa) is ดี + กว่า — better. You know กว่า from comparisons. At the end of a clause, ดีกว่า turns a statement into a suggestion: กลับบ้านดีกว่า — (we'd) better go home.
| Better to eat at home. (female speaker) | กิน ที่ บ้าน ดีกว่า ค่ะ |
Just a Moment
เดี๋ยว (dǐaw) means a moment — and at the start of a sentence, in a moment / hold on: เดี๋ยวผมมา — I'll be right there. Answering a deliberative question with เดี๋ยว + a ดีกว่า suggestion is everyday Thai:
— เราจะไปที่ไหนดี — เดี๋ยวไปตลาดดีกว่า
