Emphasizing Past Actions with ได้

Thai verbs don't change form to show tense. While context or time words usually indicate the past, you can emphasize that an action actually happened or that you got the opportunity to do it by placing ได้ immediately before the verb.

[Subject] + ได้ + [Verb] + [Object]

You will frequently see ได้ paired with specific time words or used to describe concrete past achievements.

The rule remains the same in questions or when connecting multiple past actions together.
