Continuation (ยัง / ยังไม่)

Actions Not Yet Completed (ยังไม่)

When you want to express that a task is unfinished or an event has "not yet" happened, place ยังไม่ directly before the verb or adjective. This is especially useful when checking on your to-do list while preparing for an event.

Ongoing Actions (ยัง)

To state that an action is "still" happening, use the continuation marker ยัง before the main verb.

In Thai, it is very common to pair ยัง with the continuous aspect marker อยู่ placed at the end of the sentence. This combination strongly emphasizes that someone is still doing the activity right now.

You can also use ยัง before auxiliary verbs like ต้อง (must / have to) to express that a task "still has to" be done, without needing อยู่ at the end.
