Questions & Answers about С точки зрения педагогов, внедрение этой методики — ошибка.
How does the phrase с точки зрения work, and what case does it take?
This phrase translates literally as 'from the point of view' (точка means point, зрение means sight or vision). It requires the Genitive case for the person or group whose view is being reported. That is why we see педагогов, the Genitive plural of педагог (educator).
Could I use по мнению педагогов instead of с точки зрения педагогов here?
Yes, по мнению (in the opinion of) also takes the Genitive case and means essentially the same thing. However, с точки зрения sounds a bit more analytical and formal, which perfectly matches a serious discussion about educational methodologies.
Why is there a dash right before ошибка?
The dash replaces the present tense verb 'is'. In Russian, when both the subject (внедрение, implementation) and the predicate (ошибка, mistake) are nouns in the Nominative case, you must separate them with an em dash.
Why are the words этой методики in the Genitive case?
They follow the noun внедрение (implementation) to express 'the implementation OF this methodology'. In Russian, linking nouns together like this requires putting the second noun phrase into the Genitive case.
