Questions & Answers about Я хочу красить волосы дома.
Why use the imperfective verb красить here instead of the perfective покрасить?
Using the imperfective красить suggests a repeated action or a new habit. The speaker is saying they want to dye their hair at home regularly from now on. If they just wanted to dye it one single time to get a specific result, they would use the perfective покрасить.
How would I say 'I want to dye my hair at home every month' using the rules from this lesson?
You would just add каждый месяц to the sentence. For phrases starting with 'every', Russian uses the bare Accusative case to show time frequency. Because месяц (month) is a masculine inanimate noun, its Accusative form looks exactly the same as its dictionary form.
The English translation says 'hair' in the singular. Why is волосы plural?
In Russian, the hair on your head is a plural noun (волосы). If you use the singular form волос, it means just one single strand of hair! Here, волосы is in the Accusative case because it is the direct object of the verb. Since it is plural and inanimate, it looks exactly like the Nominative case.
Why is the word for 'at home' дома with an 'a' at the end?
