Why is there an "л" in люблю if the dictionary form is любить?
любить is a second conjugation verb. When a second conjugation verb's stem ends in certain consonants like б, в, or п, an extra л is added, but only in the я (I) form. That is why it becomes я люблю. In other forms, like ты любишь (you love), the л disappears.
Why do we use очень (very) directly with a verb like люблю?
In English, we usually say "I really love" or "I love [it] very much." In Russian, the most natural way to express this is to put очень (very) right before the verb. You will see phrases like я очень люблю (I really love) and я очень хочу (I really want) all the time.
горячий чай is the object of the sentence, so shouldn't its ending change for the accusative case?
