Transporting by Vehicle: Unidirectional (везти)

When transporting people or items by vehicle, Russian uses a different pair of verbs than for carrying on foot. Use the unidirectional verb везти for a single trip in progress or movement to a specific destination.

This often pairs with words like сейчас (now) or specific events like an accident (авария).

The ambulance is taking the patient to the hospital now.
Сейчас скорая везёт пациента в больницу.

После аварии мы везём пациента в больницу.
The nurse is transporting bandages and blood for the patient.
Медсестра везёт бинты и кровь для пациента.

Transporting by Vehicle: Multidirectional (возить)

Use the multidirectional verb возить for transport that happens repeatedly, habitually, or as part of a general routine (like round trips).
