Учёба — Studying as a Thing
Russian separates the activity from the institution. Школа and университет are places; учёба is the studying itself — what fills your days.

Отметка — The Mark
An отметка is a school mark. Russian schools grade from 2 to 5, so пятёрка is top and двойка is a fail, and the verb is получить: получить хорошую отметку.

Three Words For Things You Watch, Hear and Draw

Note the pair кино and кинотеатр: идти в кино is to go to the movies as an activity, while a кинотеатр is the building itself — the one with an address.
