Adding Information in Formal Contexts
When discussing skincare formulas, you often need to list active ingredients or emphasize additional benefits. Russian uses specific prepositions to express addition and inclusion in formal contexts.
(Besides / In addition to)
To say "besides" or "in addition to," use помимо. It requires the Genitive case.
Notice the Genitive endings for коллаген (collagen) and кислота (acid):
| Besides collagen, this skincare contains vitamins. | |
| Besides acid, our cream perfectly moisturizes the face. | |
(Along with)
To say "along with" or emphasize that two things work side-by-side, use наряду с. Because it includes с (with), it requires the Instrumental case.
| Along with acids, the serum contains collagen. | |
| Along with the serum, they use a new formula. | |
Discussing Results and Formulas
When reading about beauty routines, you will often see logical connectors link an active ingredient to its health benefit, like preventing старение (aging). Use words like значит (so) or the more formal следовательно (therefore) to draw a conclusion.
| So, collagen stops aging? | |
| Therefore, this component is important for anti-aging care. | |
