Questions & Answers about Pogadamy jutro, dobrze?
Why is it pogadamy instead of będziemy rozmawiać?
Pogadamy is the future tense form of the perfective verb pogadać (to have a chat). In Polish, perfective verbs—which focus on a completed action—don't use the helping verb być (to be) to form the future tense. Instead, they use present-tense endings. You would only use będziemy with imperfective verbs, like in będziemy rozmawiać (we will be talking).
How is pogadać different from the standard verb rozmawiać?
Rozmawiać is the standard, neutral word for "to talk" or "to converse." Pogadać comes from gadać, which is a more informal, everyday word meaning "to chat." Using pogadać makes this sentence feel casual and friendly, much like saying "We'll chat tomorrow."
Why does the sentence end with dobrze? Doesn't that just mean "good"?
Yes, dobrze literally means "well" or "good." However, when placed at the end of a sentence like this with a rising intonation, it acts as a tag question meaning "is that okay?" or "all right?" While you might also hear Polish speakers use okej, dobrze? is the traditional, natural way to check if someone agrees with a plan.
