Polite Requests with "móc"
To soften an inquiry and make polite requests like "Could I...?" or "Could you...?", Polish uses the conditional forms of the verb móc (to be able to).
In the singular, these are formed by taking the 3rd person past tense forms (mógł for masculine, mogła for feminine) and attaching conditional endings (-bym, -byś, -by).

When asking for something yourself ("Could I...?"), use the ja form followed by an infinitive verb.

Asking for Favors (Formal)
To ask a favor of a stranger, receptionist, or concierge ("Could you...?"), use the 3rd person forms (mógłby / mogłaby) alongside the formal pronouns pan (sir) or pani (madam).
