The expression 〜なくて は ならない also expressed the idea to have to do 〜. It has exactly the same meaning as 〜なくて は いけません, and is slightly more formal.
| I must do my homework. | 宿題 を しなくて は ならない。shukudai o shinakute wa naranai. |
| Tomorrow, I have to wake up early. | 明日、 早く 起きなくて は ならない。ashita, hayaku okinakute wa naranai. |
There is also a more polite form of this expression, namely 〜なくて は なりません.
| I have to wear a suit. | スーツ を 着なくて は なりません。suutsu o kinakute wa narimasen. |
| I have to study Japanese. | 日本語 を 勉強しなくて は なりません。nihongo o benkyoushinakute wa narimasen. |
