Numbers 1 to 10 (uno, due, tre...)

Here are the Italian numbers from one to ten:

NumberItalian
1uno
2due
3tre
4quattro
5cinque
6sei
7sette
8otto
9nove
10dieci

Unlike most adjectives, Italian numbers from due (two) upwards are invariable. This means they never change their endings, regardless of whether the noun they describe is masculine, feminine, singular, or plural.

(Note: The number 1 is the exception. It changes to match the noun exactly like the indefinite articles *un, uno, una, and un').*

To talk about quantities, simply place the number directly before the noun you are counting.
