Viðskiptin is a plurale tantum — always plural, even for one deal (carded at B1). The currency set now has three members: krónan, the dollar

dollarinn, the euroevran — what the news calls them when the exchange rate moves.

Earning and risking

Græða (+ acc, á + dat) is to make money — græða á sölunni, to profit from the sale. Veðja (+ dat, á + acc) is to bet — veðja þúsund krónum á liðið. Útvega (+ dat + acc) is to procure: útvega einhverjum íbúð, to get someone an apartment — the verb of favours and connections.
