What does jamaa mean here exactly?
Jamaa can mean relative, family member, or sometimes friend / acquaintance / guy, depending on context and region. In this sentence, you should understand it according to the meaning already given to you. A learner should know that jamaa is a flexible word, so context matters a lot.
Why does yangu come after jamaa?
In Swahili, possessives normally come after the noun, not before it.

Why is it yangu instead of wangu?
