Why is preuzeću written as one word?
Because this is a Serbian future-tense form.
The verb is preuzeti (to take over / pick up / collect), and the future is made with the short form of hteti (ću = I will).
When the infinitive comes right before that short future form, Serbian usually joins them into one word:
- preuzeti + ću → preuzeću
You can also say:
- Ja ću preuzeti pošiljku danas.
That means the same thing, but in your sentence the future form is simply attached to the verb.
Why is there no word for I?
Serbian often leaves out subject pronouns when they are already clear from the verb ending.
In preuzeću, the ending already tells you it means I will. So ja is unnecessary unless you want emphasis:
- Preuzeću pošiljku danas. = neutral
- Ja ću preuzeti pošiljku danas. = slightly more emphatic on I
