Usages of peti

• Kiam li ne komprenas, li petas ŝin helpi, kaj ŝi proponas alian solvon.: When he does not understand, he asks her to help, and she proposes another solution.
• Mi petas, ke vi venu frue morgaŭ kaj proponu novajn ideojn.: I ask that you come early tomorrow and propose new ideas.
• En la mateno multaj gastoj de la hotelo petas lokan mapon, ĉar ili ne volas veturi per aŭtobuso.: In the morning many guests of the hotel ask for a local map, because they do not want to travel by bus.
• Antaŭ ol ni dormas, mi petas mian fratinon malŝalti la lampon apud la sofo.: Before we sleep, I ask my sister to turn off the lamp next to the sofa.
• Mi petas, ke vi skribu vian adreson kaj telefonnumeron ĉi tie.: I ask that you write your address and telephone number here.
• Kiam la respondo ne estas ĝusta, la instruistino petas nin serĉi alian detalon en la teksto.: When the answer is not correct, the teacher asks us to look for another detail in the text.
• Mi promesas, ke mi presos la finan dosieron morgaŭ kaj petos la estron subskribi ĝin.: I promise that I will print the final file tomorrow and ask the boss to sign it.
• Ŝi petas, ke mi helpu ŝin levi la skatolon, ĉar ĝi estas tro peza por unu homo.: She asks that I help her lift the box, because it is too heavy for one person.
• La tranĉilo estas tro akra por la infano, do ŝia patrino petas ŝin ne preni ĝin.: The knife is too sharp for the child, so her mother asks her not to take it.
