Learn German: Sucht ihr das Buch? - Are you all looking for the book?

In German, ihr is the informal plural "you". You use it when talking directly to two or more people you know well, like friends or kids. Think of it as the German version of "you guys" or "y'all".

Why does the verb sucht end in -t?

The base verb is suchen (to look for). To match the subject ihr, we remove the -en ending to get the stem such-, and then add a -t. That gives us sucht.

Why isn't there a word for "for" in this sentence?
