Going out and paying

die Kneipe and die Bar are not the same place

die Kneipethe pubGerman, unpretentious, beer-led, often a neighbourhood fixture
die Barthe barthe international word; cocktails, later hours, no kitchen

Both are feminine. die Bar takes the plural die Bars — a loan-word plural in -s, the pattern from L441.

We are meeting in the pub tonight.
Wir treffen uns heute Abend in der Kneipe.

das Geschäft does double duty

das Geschäft is both the shop you walk into and the deal you strike. Context separates them cleanly, and the plural die Geschäfte works for either.

Das Geschäft an der Ecke schließt um acht. Wir haben ein gutes Geschäft gemacht.

The shop on the corner closes at eight.
Das Geschäft an der Ecke schließt um acht.

betrunken

Another participle-adjective (L196), from sich betrinken. Note that German says betrunken sein, never haben.

der Cent

The coin. Like der Euro, it stays SINGULAR after a number when you state a price: Das kostet neunundneunzig Cent, not Cents.
