Irregular Future Stems
For regular verbs, the stem of the futur simple is the infinitive. Several high-frequency verbs have irregular future stems, but they still take the exact same future endings (-ai, -as, -a, -ons, -ez, -ont).

Être, Avoir, Aller, and Faire
| The astronaut who will travel in space will be ready. | L'astronaute qui voyagera dans l'espace sera prêt. |
| We will have a village on Mars in a distant future. | Nous aurons un village sur Mars dans un avenir lointain. |
| This mission will go toward a distant star. | Cette mission ira vers une étoile lointaine. |
| This spaceship will make a very long trip in space. | Ce vaisseau fera un très long voyage dans l'espace. |
Pouvoir and Vouloir
The future stems for pouvoir and vouloir are pourr- and voudr-. Notice that pourr- has a double r.
