When a ride is so fast or intense that it makes you scream, you can express the consequence using si... que or tellement... que (so... that).
Place si or tellement directly before the adjective or adverb, and que before the consequence. Both words are completely interchangeable.
(Remember that *que drops its -e to become qu' before a vowel or silent h.)*
| This attraction is so thrilling that we are afraid! | Cette attraction est tellement palpitante que nous avons peur ! |
| This ride is so intense that I am crying. | Ce manège est si intense que je pleure. |
| The drop is so terrifying that they are screaming. | La chute est tellement terrifiante qu'ils hurlent. |
| It is so high that I am shaking! | C'est si haut que je tremble ! |
This structure works exactly the same in the past tense to recount your wild experiences.
| The thrill of the drop was so intense that my stomach hurt. | Le frisson de la chute a été si intense que j'ai eu mal à l'estomac. |
| The drop was so terrifying that my stomach turned. | La chute a été tellement terrifiante que mon estomac a tourné. |
