You know cent and mille. Multiples put the small number first, like English:
| deux cents | 200 |
| deux cent cinquante | 250 |
| deux mille | 2 000 |
| dix mille | 10 000 |
cent takes -s only when it ends the number: deux cents, but deux cent cinquante.
| The coat costs two hundred euros. | Le manteau coûte deux cents euros. |
| There are two hundred books in the room. | Il y a deux cents livres dans la salle. |
| Two hundred and fifty euros is too expensive. | Deux cent cinquante euros, c'est trop cher. |
mille never changes:
| This town has two thousand inhabitants. | Cette ville a deux mille habitants. |
| The castle is more than two thousand years old. | Le château a plus de deux mille ans. |
Years are read as plain numbers: deux mille trois — 2003.
| She was born in two thousand and three. | Elle est née en deux mille trois. |
million
million (and milliard, billion) are nouns: they pluralize, and take de before what they count.
| The movie cost two million euros. | Le film a coûté deux millions d'euros. |
| Millions of people watch this movie. | Des millions de gens regardent ce film. |
