Expressing Reason with sillä
Use the coordinating conjunction sillä ("for" or "because") to explain the reason behind a statement.
Unlike the more common koska (because), sillä is a coordinating conjunction that connects two independent clauses. It has a formal tone, making it ideal for written Finnish and legal reasoning. Always place a comma before sillä.
