What does the ایم at the very end of the sentence mean?
That is the ending for "we are." In Farsi, the present tense of "to be" doesn't usually stand alone as a separate word. Instead, it attaches to the end of the previous word. Because the subject is ما (we), we use the plural ending -im.
Why is it written as آلمانیایم with an extra ایـ and a slight space, instead of just adding -m?
Because the word آلمانی (German) ends in a vowel sound (-i), you cannot just stick the consonant -m on the end. To separate the two vowel sounds (the i of German and the i of the "are" ending), Farsi adds an extra ایـ as a bridge. The small gap you see is called a "half-space," which keeps the ending visually neat without breaking the word apart.
Does هم (also/too) always go right after the pronoun?
In Farsi, هم usually sits directly after the word it emphasizes. Here, the speaker is saying "We also..." so it goes right after ما. English speakers often want to put "too" at the end of the sentence (We are German, too), but in Farsi, putting هم next to the subject is much more natural.
How is the word آلمانی (German) formed?
It is made by taking the country name آلمان (Germany) and adding the ی (-i) suffix to the end. This is the most common way to create a nationality in Farsi! You can do the exact same thing with (Iran) to make (Iranian).
