Pronominal partitives (ba'zi-shân, hich-kodâm-etân)

In English, we use "of" to talk about a portion of a group, such as "some of them" or "none of you." In Farsi, you can express this concisely by attaching plural possessive enclitics directly to quantifiers (like "some" or "all"), numbers, and indefinite pronouns.

Words Ending in a Consonant

To say "none of us" or "none of them," attach the plural possessive enclitics ـِمان (our), ـِتان (your), or ـِشان (their) to a word like هیچ‌کدام (none or neither).

Words Ending in Vowels (ی and silent ه)

When the quantifier ends in the vowel ی (like بعضی or برخی) or a silent ه (like همه or سه), attach مان, تان, or شان directly to the word.

This structure is incredibly common when using numbers to specify a portion of a group, such as "all three of us" (هر سه‌مان).

Words Ending in و

When a word ends in the vowel و (like the number دو), add the connector letter ی to bridge the gap before the enclitic. For example, "both of us" becomes هر دویمان, and "both of them" becomes هر دویشان.
