Swings and Slides
A trip to the park isn't complete without the classic playground equipment. The swing (أرجوحة) and the slide (زلاقة) are always favorites. Notice how the verb for swinging (تأرجح) shares the same root letters as the noun for the swing itself.
| I want to swing on the new swing. | أريد أن أتأرجح على الأرجوحة الجديدة.urîdu an ata'arjaha 'alâ al-urjûhati al-jadîdah |
| The boys played on the slide.
Sandbox Tools and Toys
Children often bring their own toys to the park, like a favorite doll (دمية). If they are heading to the sandbox, they will definitely need a bucket (دلو) and a shovel (مجرفة).
| The little girl forgot the doll in the park.
| We need a bucket and a shovel for the sandbox. |
Taking Turns
With so many fun things to do, it is important for kids to share. You can use the verb تبادل to describe children exchanging items or taking turns on the playground equipment.
| The boys took turns with the bucket and the shovel.
| The children must take turns on the swing.
Balloons and Joy
Sometimes there are extra treats at the park, like a colorful balloon (بالون) that might fly (طار) up into the sky. Ultimately, a day at the playground is all about the joy (مرح) the children feel.
| The red balloon flew in the sky. | طار البالون الأحمر في السماء.târa al-bâlônu al-ahmaru fî as-samâ'i |
| The children felt joy in the playground. |
