Immediate sequence (بمجرد أن / فورَ)

"As Soon As" with بمجرد أن

In an escape room, every second counts. To express that one action happens immediately after another, use بمجرد أن (as soon as).

Because this phrase ends with the particle أن, it must be directly followed by a verbal clause. The verb following it is typically in the present tense.

"Immediately After" with فورَ

Another way to describe a rapid sequence of events is by using فورَ (immediately after).

Unlike بمجرد أن, which takes a full verbal clause, فورَ must be directly followed by a noun, creating an Idafa (genitive construction). When describing an action, use the verbal noun (the masdar) of that action.
