My name is Júlia Nagy, and I am a Business Administration and Management student at the University of Szeged. I am writing because I would like to request an appointment to have my work-placement certificate signed.

I would like to ask whether you could see me in your office at ten o’clock next Tuesday morning. I need the signed document so that I can submit it to the academic administration office by Friday.

I have attached the completed certificate and the placement supervisor’s declaration so that you can review them in advance. If the suggested time is not convenient, please suggest another one.

This translation follows normal English administrative style. Hungarian fogadni literally means “receive,” but “see me” is idiomatic for an appointment. Conversely, English Dear is not evidence that tisztelt means emotionally “dear”: here it is a conventional respectful salutation.

Sentence-by-sentence segmentation

The structural glosses expose morphology, but copying their order into English would produce poor translation. Forms such as aláírásához and segítségét package possession and case in one word.

Decision 1: salutation, names, and capitalization

Tisztelt Kovács Úr! is an appropriate (formal) salutation when the writer knows the man’s family name. Hungarian places the family name before the title in this formula and conventionally capitalizes the title as part of the direct written address. An exclamation mark is standard and need not sound emotionally excited.

In running text, ordinary role nouns remain lowercase: a tanulmányi osztály, a gyakorlatvezető. Júlia capitalizes Önnek as a courtesy choice in direct correspondence. Lowercase önnek would also be orthographically possible; courtesy capitalization does not change pronunciation or agreement. Decision 4: purpose clauses require a nonfactual goal form

The first azért... mert gives a cause or explanation: Júlia writes because she wants an appointment. The later azért... hogy gives a purpose: she needs the signature in order to submit the document. A purpose is a desired outcome, not yet an established fact, so the subordinate verb uses the subjunctive/imperative form benyújthassam.

Áttekinthesse is third person because its understood subject is the recipient. The possibility suffix -het combines with the purpose form, yielding “so that you may/can review.” English can hides both the subordinate mood and the address agreement.

Decision 5: definite documents select definite conjugation

The writer and recipient can identify a kitöltött igazolást and a gyakorlatvezető nyilatkozatát, so csatolom uses first-person singular definite conjugation. Likewise, segítségét ... köszönöm treats the recipient’s help as a definite object.

With an indefinite object, the form changes: Csatolok egy rövid összefoglalót “I am attaching a short summary.” English uses attach in both contexts, so the article and possessive marking—not the English verb—must drive the Hungarian ending.

Őket resumes two human or nonhuman plural items in modern Hungarian. Here it refers to the two documents; there is no requirement to replace it with an English-style “them documents” construction.

Decision 6: precise case forms clarify the transaction

The appointment is requested az igazolásom aláírásához, with -hoz marking the purpose for which it is needed. Júlia has need a dokumentumra, because szüksége van valamire governs sublative -ra/-re. The deadline is péntekig, and the submission destination is a tanulmányi osztályra.

A plausible English-shaped version such as szükségem van az aláírt igazolást fails: the accusative is not selected by the English meaning “need.” Hungarian valency assigns -ra/-re after szüksége van. Similarly, időpontot kér takes an accusative object, while the reason for the appointment receives -hoz/-hez/-höz.

Decision 7: the closing is a complete formal move

Segítségét előre is köszönöm thanks the recipient without assuming the answer. Üdvözlettel: is a neutral, widely usable (formal) closing followed by the sender’s name. A colon is conventional here; email practice varies, but the register remains clearly distanced.

The Hungarian signature keeps Hungarian name order. The English translation reverses it to the order expected in English prose. This is cultural adaptation, not a grammatical change to her name.
