Why is the word order ตึก สูง instead of the other way around?
In Thai, describing words (adjectives) always come after the noun they describe. Instead of "tall building", you say it in the order of "building tall" (ตึก สูง).
Where is the word for "is" in this sentence?
When pointing something out in everyday Thai, the "to be" verb (like คือ) is often just dropped. Also, Thai adjectives like สูง act like verbs themselves (meaning "to be tall"). Because of this, the sentence works perfectly as just "This building tall" without needing a separate "is" word!
