¿Por qué se usan los verbos en presente simple (put, add, drop) si parece una secuencia de acciones, casi como si fuera pasado?
En inglés, el presente simple se usa mucho para:
Hábitos / rutinas:
I put the letter in the envelope, add the stamp, and drop it in the mailbox
= Siempre que envío una carta, hago estas tres cosas.Instrucciones / pasos de un proceso (como una receta o manual):
First, you put the letter in the envelope, then you add the stamp, and finally you drop it in the mailbox.
Si quisieras hablar de una ocasión específica en el pasado, usarías pasado simple:
I put the letter in the envelope, added the stamp, and dropped it in the mailbox.
¿Por qué los verbos no llevan -s (no dice adds, drops)?
Porque el sujeto es I (yo). En presente simple:
- Con I / you / we / they → verbo base: I add, we add
- Con he / she / it → verbo con -s: he adds, she drops
En la oración:
I put the letter in the envelope, add the stamp, and drop it in the mailbox
El sujeto I se entiende para los tres verbos:
- I put
- I add
- I drop
Por eso no se usa adds ni drops.
